This collection is comprised of groups of copy prints used in exhibits sponsored by the Urban Archives. Collections include: 1. FACES AND SCENES FROM THE SIXTIES, 1969-1970: 44 mounted images from the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News detailing the activities within Philadelphia during the decade involving Vietnam protests, civil rights meetings, and featuring personalities such as Martin Luther King, Jr., President J.F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Billy Graham, and the Beatles.; 2. HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF PENNSYLVANIA EXHIBITS, 1920-1986: images of locations and scenes in and around Philadelphia; 3. PRESERVING PHILADELPHIA, 1850-1985: This collection contains a variety of materials reproduced for use in an exhibit aimed at delineating the depth of collections in the Urban Archives. Subjects include: Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC), Upholsterers International Union, Helen M. Oakes, Walter Beckett, Floyd Logan Monument Cemetery, Black Panthers, Widener Mansion, Grand Opera House, Edison High School, and Girard College; 4. THE BLACK EXPERIENCE IN PHILADELPHIA, ca. 1700-present: Images include various African American personalities in areas of politics, education, medicine, and religion.; 5. POTABLE POWER, 1920-1933: encludes images of the Prohibition era in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, highlighting bootleggers and gangland figures.
